The Allure of Paint Pouring
How did you first get started with paint pouring?
Just over two years ago, I was searching for a creative outlet to help me heal. Paint pouring became that escape. It allowed me to express emotions freely and rediscover my inner child.
What draws you to the medium of paint pouring?
I love the freedom and joy of paint pouring. It’s a way to connect with others through shared creative expression, and there’s a sense of liberation in letting go and allowing the paint to take its course.
Describe your creative process.
My approach varies. Sometimes, I plan out a piece, while other times, I let spontaneity guide me. I enjoy collaborating with others and discovering what they envision in their artwork. It’s a personal journey to capture their desired emotions and translate them into a visual form.
Techniques and Inspiration
Do you have a favorite technique?
I adore the reverse flower technique inspired by Fiona Art. It’s simple yet satisfying to create these beautiful blooms using just a water bottle and a paper towel. I love the calming color palettes and the connection to nature that my work reflects.
What inspires your art?
Nature is my constant source of inspiration. Its beauty and interconnectedness profoundly influence my color choices and overall style.
Overcoming Challenges and Finding Fulfillment
How do you overcome creative blocks?
I find solace in nature, yoga, and simply taking a break from art and social media. These rejuvenate my creativity and allow fresh ideas to emerge.
How do you know when a piece is finished?
It’s an intuitive process. I consider the piece’s purpose and whether it captures the desired emotion. Once it’s varnished, it’s complete.
Advice for Aspiring Artists
What advice would you give to beginners?
Experiment, trust your intuition, and have fun! There are countless ways to approach paint pouring. The most important thing is to enjoy the process.
